Welcome to FBC's Children's Ministry!
Children, newborns - 5th graders, are an important part of the body of Christ at First Baptist Church. We seek to offer opportunities for our kids to learn, serve, and lead as they explore God's love for them and for the world. We believe all children are made in the image of God and are beloved by God. As a church, our hope is to nurture and partner with children and their families as they learn and grow.
Godly Play is at the heart of our children's ministry. This approach to teaching invites children to explore their faith through stories and wondering, all while nurturing their innate sense of the presence of God. Through Godly Play, our children learn the language of our faith and are encouraged to discover their own parts in the great story of God's work in the world. You can learn more about the Godly Play method here.
We currently offer both in person and virtual experiences for children. We are working to support families who are ready to gather again as well as those who choose to continue social distancing at this time.
In person gatherings
In person Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. for children of all ages. We offer nursery care as well as classes for 3-year-olds through kindergarteners and 1st - 5th graders. All children's workers are fully vaccinated, masked, and have had background checks.
We share a virtual Sunday school option each week via email. It includes a video lesson and several activity suggestions for families to explore together.
Children and families are invited to participate in a variety of outdoor activities throughout the summer. We would love for you to join us!
