Throughout the year Children's Ministry hosts special events that are treasured by our whole church family. Some of these include:
Happy Jack Pumpkin Farm party: a time for costumes, hayrides and trick or treating for all ages!
Family Advent Breakfast: a Sunday morning family event that teaches the meaning and rituals of preparing for Christmas through Advent and provides resources for families to use at home during the season.
Hanging of the Green: a family worship time when we gather as a congregation to decorate our sanctuary for Advent and usher in the season with music from our children's choirs and the decorating of our Chrismon Tree and lighting of the Advent Wreath.
Children's Sunday: a Sunday in Spring when preschool through 5th graders lead our entire Sunday morning worship service.
Passport Kids Camp: each summer our 3rd through 5th graders travel to Maryville,TN for a fun-filled four days of camp. It is super to join with other churches in this beautiful setting and grow in our love for Jesus. This year camp will be in July. Scholarships are available.
Advocacy Camp: Held at FBC in June for those who have completed 1st grade through 12th grade (guests up through 5th grade welcome) Through interactive Bible study, hands on mission trips, crafts and worship we
- teach our kids and youth that they can use their voice and action to help people as Jesus did
- build bridges of hope and reconciliation to our community and the world
- build bridges of relationships between our kids and our teenagers as we worship and play and learn and serve together
- build bridges of connection between different groups who are advocating on behalf of those in need
Church-wide Picnic: A fun afternoon in the park in early Fall marks the end of summer and beginning of a new school year.
