Children

Welcome to FBC's Children's Ministry!

Children, newborns - 5th graders, are an important part of the body of Christ at First Baptist Church.  We seek to offer opportunities for our kids to learn, serve, and lead as they explore God's love for them and for the world.  We believe all children are made in the image of God and are beloved by God.  As a church, our hope is to nurture and partner with children and their families as they learn and grow.

Godly Play is at the heart of our children's ministry.  This approach to teaching invites children to explore their faith through stories and wondering, all while nurturing their innate sense of the presence of God.  Through Godly Play, our children learn the language of our faith and are encouraged to discover their own parts in the great story of God's work in the world.  You can learn more about the Godly Play method here.

We currently offer both in person and virtual experiences for children.  We are working to support families who are ready to gather again as well as those who choose to continue social distancing at this time.

In person gatherings

Godly Play Sunday School begins at 9:45 for children ages 3 and up.  Nursery care is available for babies and toddlers.  All children's workers are fully vaccinated, masked, and have had background checks.

Children ages 3 and up are invited to join us for children's worship on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.  We exit the sanctuary after the children's sermon and enjoy a time for worship and wondering together in the children's suite.

virtual opportunities

If you aren't able to join us for Godly Play in person, gather with us via Zoom on Sunday evenings at 6 pm.

Children of all ages are invited to "Books and Beyond," a weekly time of digital fellowship and learning each Wednesday at 6 pm.

FALL events

Children and families are invited to participate in a variety of outdoor activities throughout the summer.  We would love for you to join us!
