Welcome to FBC's Adult Ministry!
At First Baptist Church, we believe spiritual formation is essential for all ages. When we gather to learn, to discuss, and to study together in beloved community, we grow in both our love for God and for one another.
We offer small group opportunities for adult spiritual formation, in addition to fellowship, on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.
Spiritual formation opportunities
SUNDAY SCHOOL - Adult Sunday School classes meet in person on Sunday mornings from 9:45 - 10:30. Several of our classes gather virtually or offer a virtual option. No matter your age or life stage, we have a group that will welcome you!
ADULT BOOK STUDY - This group often meets via Zoom, Tuesdays at noon, to discuss a variety of books about the Bible, Christianity, and the world. Recent books include Trouble the Water: A Christian Resource for the Work of Racial Justice, Diana Butler Bass' A People's History of Christianity, and Parker Palmer's Healing the Heart of Democracy..
ADULT BIBLE STUDY - Led by Dr. Keith Felton, Senior Pastor, our Adult Bible Study is Wednesdays at 6:15. Adults are welcome to join the study in Fellowship Hall or watch via Facebook Live.
WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY - This group, often referred to as Sisters in Grace, gathers virtually or in the home of a host facilitator on Thursdays at 10:00 am to share in fellowship and study. Their most recent studies have focused on Jeremiah, Elijah, and Peter.
55+ GROUP - Our 55+ adults, often referred to as The Barnabas Group (TBG), strive to gather for fun and fellowship in addition to ministering to the church and community. For information specific to TBG, please email Mona Carpenter, TBG events coordinator.
ROMEO - FBC ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) meets each Thursday, 9:00 am, for breakfast at Tammy's Diner.
